Crime of the Week

The Hopewell Police Department needs your assistance in locating the person responsible for a purse snatching, which occurred in the 5200 block of Plaza drive, near the Food Lion store.

On July 27, 2003, police responded to this location. Preliminary investigation revealed that as the victim and her two infants were about to enter this store, they were approached from behind and knocked to the ground. A struggle ensued over the victim's purse. All three received minor injury from this crime.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5'9"-6'0" tall and weighing around 300 pounds. He has a short haircut.
